Mercedes-Benz GLB by Brabus

Brabus Mercedes-Benz GLB

Brabus features a bit of a reputation for adding some really unconventional aftermarket flair to Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Solely this year, we saw wild interpretations of GLE, GLS, and G-Class from the German tuner. Currently, the short GLB crossover gets the same Brabus treatment, although it’s a bit more refined here.

New lower vents and a 2-piece spoiler adorn the front fascia – however, these two add-ons are solely compatible with the AMG-Line bumper. Meanwhile, an enormous Brabus “B” emblem replaces the Mercedes tri-star emblem in the grille, and 2 led light bars on the roof provide the GLB a lot of rugged looks reminiscent of its G-Class huge brother.

The only changes that can’t go unnoticed are within the rear are the ducktail spoiler on the roof, that matches the upgraded front bumper visually, and black-chrome quad exhaust tips. Those new pipes have a hearty 3.5-inch diameter, additional toughening up the GLB with a more throaty note.

The 10-spoke wheels are Brabus customs, accessible in 18-, 19-, and 20-inch fitments, and wrapped in either Continental, Pirelli, or Yokohama rubber. And inside, there are new floor mats, aluminum pedals, light-up door sills, and even a trunk liner with acceptable Brabus branding.

But the most important changes Brabus made are underneath the sheet metal. With a retuned ECU, the GLB 250 gets an additional 46 H.P. (34 kilowatts) and 59 pound-feet (80 Newton-meters). That brings the overall output figure to 267 HP (200 kW) and 316 lb-ft (430 Nm). A brand new suspension setup drops the overall ride height by 1.2 inches – or an optional off-road choice raises it by 1.4 inches. The sole factor we don’t recognize yet is the cost, but Brabus says that data should be accessible shortly.
