Brabus is back in the spotlight with another stand-out project carried out on the Mercedes-AMG G63. The project is called Crawler 8×8 and involves a massive body work and new wheels.

From the sides and rear, recognition becomes harder. The company describes the project as a new titan, built around eight wheels and aimed at terrain use far beyond normal road driving.

One detail appeared shortly after publication. Brabus later stated the vehicle formed part of an elaborate April Fools’ prank. Even so, the published material included enough design detail to show how far the idea had been developed before release.

Brabus GmbH dates back to 1977 and operates from Bottrop, Germany. Across decades, the company moved through more than tuned road cars. The source mentions motorcycles, reality shows, ice races, marine projects, and even island villas, though automobiles remain the central identity.

Mercedes-Benz still holds a special place in that history. Brabus continues returning to the G-Class platform, especially the AMG G 63. Recent examples named in the source include Brabus 800 Cabrio and Brabus XL 800 Cabrio, both transforming the off-roader into open-air machines.

Other projects outside Mercedes also appear in the same timeline. Brabus built the Brabus 900 Superblack from the Bentley Continental GT Speed and the Brabus 900 Mint from the Lamborghini Urus.

Crawler 8×8 pushes the G-Class idea much further. Brabus shared three photos and one short statement, without full technical specifications or a formal press release. The vehicle appears during dune driving, jumps, and sand use, which the source links to a likely Middle East target market.

The published description includes a special max-strength steel tube frame. Around that sits a fully exposed carbon-fiber body. Portal axle suspension appears underneath, developed for major ground clearance. Doors are absent. Windows are absent, too, including the windshield.

The layout changes more than expected. Brabus places four aftermarket full bucket seats ahead of a large rear bed section. The overall shape leaves less SUV identity than side-by-side utility vehicle proportions, though the front still carries G-Class cues.

The company itself describes the machine as driven not by four wheels, not by six, but by eight. Brabus also says the model was designed to conquer whatever lies ahead.

No engine data appears in the published material. No official measurements appear either. At least for now, the visual statement remains the main part of the release, even if the company later attached the April 1 explanation. The result still stands among the strangest G-Class-based ideas Brabus has shown in recent years.
